What we’re about
ayzh – a social enterprise with head quarters in Fort Collins is igniting important, taboo-breaking conversation on menstrual health and hygiene.
From time to time, the claim is made that we need to import indentured servants from Asia, because the STEM fields are short of labor. This is a variation of the old line about crops rotting in the fields for the lack of stoop labor. The fact that no human living in America has ever experienced a food shortage due to crops rotting in the fields underscores the fact that these claims are nonsense. Indentured servants from Asia are cheap and more important, the threat of them depresses wages for American workers in the STEM jobs.
That’s the cost of cheap labor that is easy to see. There are other costs that are not so obvious. In the case of the tech fields, indentured servants from Asia have had the perverse effect of discouraging young Americans from going into these fields. When tech firms started filling entry level jobs with foreign labor, they made the field unattractive to young people, who correctly saw that jobs were scarce and the ones available paid low wages. Young Americans were advised to not go into technology, as a result.
Put another way, cheap foreign labor drove out domestic labor from these entry level jobs, thus institutionalizing the use of indentured servants in the low level tech jobs. Slavery had the same effect where it was practiced.
In the case of tech, there is a social element involved. You go to college in order to get a good job. That’s a social definition that goes beyond earnings. If your field requires you to work with smelly South Asians for five years until you can be the supervisor of smelly South Asians, that’s viewed as a low-status field.

Wait a minute. Dating is exactly the same as job interviewing for both men and women. Men list how good they are and women look cute and/or slutty.
No woman has ever been hired because she was qualified. It’s just never happened. Men are too benevolent and know women need handouts. Women are hired as soon as they walk in the door.
. . . . .
Ignorance is not cute. Every woman in the whole goddamn of Earth thinks it is, but it isn’t. Hang around some women some time and see for yourself. When they get together it’s like they’re having a Stupid-Off.
‘You don’t understand computers!? Wait til you hear what I don’t understand! Fucking Toilets! Or rain or some other bullshit! Is it angles crying? Is it from the ocean? Who the fuck knows! Wasn’t The Little Mermaid a great movie!’
That’s great. Congratulations. You’re so cute, you’re functionally retarded.
Maybe that’s why women have hissy fits when no one at all takes them seriously and all men constantly talk about how brainless they are behind their backs. Maybe they’re just acting ignorant like usual.
My point is that like so many of their other brain-ailments, women can’t help this one. The female species has playing the part of a helpless dimwit engrained in their collective heads like an Etch-a-Sketch you left out in the sun.
Usually you can just cross your fingers and hope the last thing you drew on it wasn’t a dick or else Mom’s going to be pretty pissed off for no real fucking reason — like usual. With women, however, you have to do more than cross your fingers. You have to get a prenup.
King Abdullah,
My name is Dick Masterson. I am a celebrated Man Coach and author of Men Are Better Than Women, a fine work of non-fiction that you can purchase in your local bookstore as of April 2008, or pre-order today through Amazon.com. It is a book of such masculine profundity that your camels will have goosebumps.
Sir, it has come to my attention that a band of progressive misfits and hooligans are attempting to bamboozle you into giving women the right to drive. Rest assured that your manly instincts in this matter are correct — as were those of your father and his father. Letting women drive is dangerous. It’s dangerous to life, and it’s dangerous to your way of life.
While 10% of Americans may not be able to point to your country on a map, 100% of Americans can point to a country who fucked up by giving women a number of rights they don’t deserve. That country rhymes with and also is “America”.
Driving is not a religious issue, sir. On that and only that do I agree with these groups of swindling activists. However, it is not a social issue as they claim it to be. Letting women on the road is a matter of public safety and national security.
Women on the road are more dangerous than cancer.

If you are wondering why TGO doesn’t watch the Supergirl TV show the first reason would be that the actress who plays Supergirl isn’t all that cute. The second reason would be . . .
The other big news was Supergirl hiring transgender activist Nicole Maines to be Nia Nal, the Dreamer.
Obviously the inclusion of a transgender performer is progressive and fits into the politics of the show I applaud the show for pushing the envelope. I do hope that there is some connection to the Legion given the character sounds like Dream Girl, down to the moniker and last name.
Does this mean we probably will get some episodes focusing on transgender issues. The answer is most likely yes. I just pray they are done in a way that works.
http://comicboxcommentary.blogspot.com/2018/07/supergirl-sdcc-wrap-up.html
The DC Comics drama has enlisted transgender activist and actress Nicole Maines to play TV’s first transgender superhero.
Maines will join the fourth season of the Warner Bros. TV-produced drama as Nia Nal (aka Dreamer), a character described as a soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others. Nia’s journey in season four means fulfilling her destiny as the superhero Dreamer, which is similar to Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) journey to become Supergirl.
If Maines’ name sounds familiar, it should. The activist made headlines across the globe in June 2013 when a Maine Supreme Court ruled that her rights had been violated under the state’s Human Rights Act and set a landmark victory for trans rights in its ruling that transgender people can use the bathroom of their choice. Maines was previously featured on the HBO documentary The Trans List. She is the subject of the book Becoming Nicole by Amy Ellis Nutt. Her acting credits include USA Network’s Royal Pains.
The character of Nia Nal is a spin on the DC Comics character of Nura Nal (aka Dream Girl), who can foresee the deaths of others but is not specifically identified as transgender.
. . . . .
For his part, Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti — who has a TV-record 15 scripted series — has made it a personal mission to tell LGBTQ stories.
“Even with the action shows though, I’ve still tried to do my part in making those shows relevant where I can, whether it’s having openly gay actors play straight characters or straight actors play gay characters,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in May 2016.
. . . . .
That Supergirl plans to introduce a transgender superhero arrives days after The CW and Warner Bros. announced plans to team with Berlanti to develop a Batwoman TV series.
As in the comics, the character of Batwoman will be a lesbian.
That makes it the first time that a lesbian superhero will be the center of a TV show.
