This prompts politicians to virtue signal by banning plastic bags, encouraged no doubt by companies that make plastic bags that want to get paid more for their product. So here are the top 10 rivers in the world responsible for such pollution. Can any of you guess where they may be?

Their paper, published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, calculates that rivers contribute between 410,000 and 4 million tonnes a year to oceanic plastic debris, with 88 to 95% coming from only 10.

Those rivers are the Yangtze, Yellow, Hai He, Pearl, Amur and Mekong in east Asia, the Indus and Ganges Delta in south Asia, and the Niger and Nile in Africa.

That’s right, 95% of the world’s ocean plastic pollution comes from Asia and Africa.

As we reported last week, 4chan is currently facing Shia Labeouf’s toughest assignment yet, as the now iconic “he will not divide us” flag has found its way to the top of a building in a French city, high up in the air and well guarded.

Having spent the past week or so discussing what would be the best way to vandalize the flag, one anonymous 4chan user decided to take things into his own hands by launching a first attack on the flag using a flame-throwing drone (Scroll down for video).

Shia’s project, which features a white flag with the words “He Will Not Divide Us” filmed round-the-clock by a camera, has already moved several times from New York, to New Mexico and to Liverpool in Britain because of security problems.

Now installed above an art gallery in an old biscuit factory in the French city of Nantes, the flag came under attack overnight Tuesday-Wednesday by a drone, which attempted for several minutes to set it on fire.

The remotely-piloted arson attempt failed when the drone crashed.

A Google maps feature used for directions which shows how many calories you could be burning if you choose to walk instead of driving has been taken down by Google after facing online backlash from social activists. While Google’s motives may have been to help users lose excess weight and stay in shape, Tumble Inc. interpreted it as an attempt to fat-shame women.

While using the Google maps app to navigate their way to their various destinations, users received fun facts from Google such as how many calories they would be burning if they were walking instead of driving, and the cupcake equivalent of those calories (How many cupcakes they would have had to have eaten to gain those calories).

As can be expected, the Social Justice/fat acceptance crowd wasn’t very happy with this, because the mere suggestion that people should stay healthy is fat-phobic, and health can be found at every size…. or something.
