Linkage: 25 October, 2016 #TheTriggering featuring Adam Piggott
Greetings and happy linkage day.
I’m still fixing broken website. And dealing with working for a living. And chasing girls. And drinking Martinis made with Plymouth gin. I should get paid for these plugs.
Today’s linkage features Adam Piggott. You can find him here: https://pushingrubberdownhill.com/
My standard disclaimer: Adam is not an anarcho-capitalist. He is perceptive and unlike the 99% has removed his head from his ass. Adam is a good writer with interesting things to say. I recommend adding him to your regular reading list.
I’ve neglected his blog the last few months and sat down to get caught up on it today. This linkage is the good stuff I ran across and wanted to offend you fucking snowflakes with.
Adam has also written two books. I have not yet read nor purchased either of them. They are on my list however.
Adam also has a podcast – which I have not listened to. Yet. I’m way behind on . . . everything. Too damn many balls in your girlfriend’s mouth – I mean balls in the air. Balls in the air. Not your girlfriend’s mouth. Of course not. That would be wrong.
Enough of me. Let the linkage begin . . .
As you may known if you have actually listened to the podcast I can’t shut the fuck up about the importance of self-awareness.
The title of this post might be a little misleading. Your assumption could be that I am referring to women. I am not – this post is about men. A crucial trait for any modern man is the ability to be self aware. In other words, you need to be able to ruthlessly evaluate your own behavior patterns so as to spot weaknesses and self destructive behavior. We all have them. Most men however, find it too confronting to admit that they have weaknesses in the first place. They bury their heads in the sand rather than expose themselves to any self-examination that risks throwing up uncomfortable truths.
Self-evaluation is only the first step.
Once you have identified a weakness you then need to actually do something about it. It’s called fixing the problem.
This takes time. It is simply not possible with deep rooted behavior patterns to change them overnight once you have identified them. It is a gradual process of weening yourself off your emotional dependency that causes you to behave that way in the first place. Even when you have been successful it is amazing how years later in just the right context the old negative behavior pattern rises to the surface like scum on pure water.

The big stumbling block for feminists, progressives, and cultural Marxists has always been that it takes two to tango. Even with IVF treatments and fertility clinics, these procedures were always restricted to those who were actually infertile. But if the WHO succeeds in changing the definition of fertility then what do you need men for?
All around us we are bombarded with propaganda that masculinity is inherently bad. That young boys must be cured of their masculine urges, all under the guise that women and girls need to be protected from the horrible men. Young boys are now being encouraged to become transsexuals. Homosexuality is not just being encouraged in young boys, it is being actively celebrated.
The proponents of all of this have an end-game. It is not just random idiocy and mindless hatred. It is about a world without men, where future pregnancies will be screened so as to allow only female children. Envisage a world where natural conception is outlawed and that the only legal way to bring a child into the world is through a clinic. For “health reasons”. All male fetuses will be unhealthy and will have to be aborted. How much time would it take for there to be a world without men?

So let me set you all straight.
Failing, while not desirable, is much better than sucking. Failing means you set your sights high and gave it all you had, but you didn’t pull it off this time.
Or failing means that you put in no effort at all and you got your just deserts. Sucking means that you put in just enough effort to get by, or perhaps not even that. Sucking is a long drawn out slow death that infects everyone else for the considerable period that you suck, in this case up to two years apparently. Failing is a giant supernova flame-out from which you hopefully learn some lessons so that you can do better next time.

The Red Pill is about the men’s rights activist movement which is known as the MRA. One of my first podcasts was an episode on why I think the MRA movement is a terrible idea. For those who don’t know, the MRA fights for men’s rights specifically in the realm of the family unit. Divorce proceedings, custody of children, paternity tests, abortion decisions – all of these and many more are completely skewed in favor of women. The men in the MRA are men who have been completely screwed over by the system and they are doing their best to fight back.
While their motivations are completely understandable, unfortunately the way that they go about fighting these injustices is completely self defeating. Worse than that it is also illogical. Feminists are not threatened by the MRA, although they put on a good show of pretending to be upset.
Because as long as men fight for equal rights in the divorce courts, feminists can sit comfortably in the knowledge that the MRA will never win.
Think about it. If equal rights were granted to men then that would negate the unfair advantage that feminists have constructed for themselves over the last forty years. Two wrongs do not make a right. In other words, you do not solve an injustice by granting the same unjust advantages to men. You fight an injustice by removing those rights in the first place. That is how you return to a level playing field.
. . . . .
And to top it all off we have a documentary outlining their plight that has been made by a feminist. They not only have to get women to fight for them, they need feminists to fight for them. How reprehensible. I have no doubt that they believed that having a feminist take up their cause would give them some form of credibility. Instead, it only adds to the overall picture. That the filmmaker in question, Cassie Jaye, got support from people such as Mike Cernovich, Milo, and also managed to raise money from members of the Roosh V forum among others simply astounds me.
. . . . .
Men, real men that is, don’t behave like this. They may think that they are fighting the good fight, but not only are they going about it the wrong way, they are providing a terrible example of what it is to be a man. The answer to this fifty year battle is to undo all of the gains that the cultural Marxists have made. To do that you need to unstack the courts and change the laws. Fault-free divorce has to go.
The stigma of being a single mother has to return.
Abortions must be made illegal. And the father must return to his rightful place as the head of the household.
I get what Adam is pointing to in this one. However democracy is not a good thing. More importantly, it’s not a free press a democracy needs to exist. It’s stupid people. If there are no stupid people, the ones in the basket of inferiors, then there is no need for government and thus no democracy.
Perhaps Trump came into this campaign with some sort of hope that the press would function as he had seen it function over his long career as a businessman and developer. If he did then he has undoubtedly had a rude shock. While politicians and the political process have indeed betrayed American citizens, in a way the MSM has betrayed them to an even greater extent. The politicians are doing what they have always done. The only difference is that now they can get away with it due to a complicit mainstream media.
In view of all of this it isn’t enough to state that the democratic process in the USA is broken. A neutral and independent press is so crucial to a functioning democracy that its betrayal in this way goes much further than subversion.
It means that the USA is a democracy only in name. A partisan press that is beholden to one side of politics is symptomatic of other forms of government that the USA has spent the last hundred years fighting in long and brutal conflicts.

The report goes on to quote a local police chief who states that they are arresting the same thugs again and again. In South Sudan these playful young men would be disciplined by the local Big Man. He would put a bullet in the head of the one that was the biggest threat to his own power and then utilize the rest for his own ends.
In a sane society the solution would be simple. Deport any individual convicted of a serious crime back to South Sudan, along with his entire family.
The first time that happened all of this would stop. You have to give people incentives to police their own.

If I could sum up the two years that I worked in Uganda as a rafting guide, the word that defines that dark continent is stupidity.
To survive and prosper in the African’s world, one must understand the complete lack of understanding. You must see things from their point of view and act in a way that communicates to them that you are not to be trifled with.
The infamous scene that I detail in my first book of how we solved a local crime by obtaining a witchdoctor is a case in point. The very act of using the local method in the first place was the defining gesture. We suffered far less criminal activity from that point because the locals knew that we would use their own science against them. We were thought of as ‘very smart mazungus’. To be thought of as smart you have to act stupid.
The driving motivation behind African’s decisions that I saw time and time again was emotion. The primary emotion that drove their decision making was anger. The sins behind their anger were greed and envy. I witnessed mindbogglingly stupid decisions on a daily basis whose ramifications were always negative towards the perpetrator and those around him. Resolution using logic was not possible.

I can relate to this. I am not good at following – generally speaking. I’m very good at following a qualified leader when we are working towards a defined conclusion. I don’t know how to install a toilet. But if someone who does know how leads me through the process of installing a toilet I will follow, perform and learn.
As you might guess I don’t follow well when it comes to philosophy. Nor do I desire to lead. In all truth I think those who are my intellectual equals don’t need to be lead. They can discover on their own. Those who are not my equals can’t learn, can’t follow and should die. Those are the people (I use the term people loosely) who are in the basket of inferiors.
Each day I wake up and settle myself in front of the computer with my coffee to peruse the happenings of the day before. I have my go-to sites which largely reflect my blogroll, as well as a few others. Gab has been added to that list although I am struggling with the whole concept.
It appears to be a contest of who can come up with the most pithy one-liners which amounts to a lot of noise that I do not have the patience to go through. It is also very much a realm of leaders and followers, but I have never been a follower and I can’t be bothered to lead. I am trying to work out what my motivation is for being there. If I am looking for more followers then I will have to lead. If I am seeking out new and interesting voices then I will have to slug it out through the walls of text.
But I have noticed something of late on my morning internet perusings.
There is a pressure building up, an almost indescribable pressure. I see it on Facebook, in the increasingly desperate posts of people who imagine a Trump presidency to be the worst thing in the world.
Each day is a little more intense than the one before. It is a pressure that is building that is almost imperceptible to people using the social message board.
https://pushingrubberdownhill.com/2016/10/14/the-pressure-is-building/
I first came across the term ‘male privilege’ back in 2010 during a major internet war on my gaming blog over the feminist intrusions into online gaming. Six years later it has crossed over from bizarre far left progressive nut-bag feminist ideology and found its way to the heart of the state education system here in Australia.
We should not be surprised as it was only a matter of time. The years of churning out university graduates steeped in these cultural-Marxist ideologies has reached its end-game stage. We may make fun of the rot they teach in universities but eventually these indoctrinated students enter the workplace and some of them actually find jobs.
And since they’re basically stupid and have trouble surviving in the real world, they gravitate to the public service.
All that was needed was a meeting of the Marxists between the public servants and the politicians, and in premier Dan Andrews they have found their man. Since being elected barely over a year ago, Andrews has shown remarkable energy in pushing for all matters social justice.
There is no such thing as closure in real life. Nobody has closure on a traumatic event or the loss of a loved one. Only children and congenital liars believe in closure. The real world doesn’t work that way. You get on with your life as best you can while attempting not to become overwhelmed by the despair that you feel. As years pass the despair will recede but it will never go away. It will always be there in some form. It rides on your shoulder as a tiny gremlin. The best you can do is to get it to shut up but you can never remove its presence.
So why do people persist in using this word?
Either they are trying to sell you something, (and clinical Psychologists are typically the worst offenders here), or they are attempting to mask the fact that they are incapable of actually saying anything of meaning.
Step forward politicians, journalists, and government officials:
https://pushingrubberdownhill.com/2016/10/12/there-is-no-such-thing-as-closure/
The problem is that his analogy is a poor one. There are two fundamental differences between those who were once living behind the iron curtain and today’s students. The people in the Soviet Union knew that they were being lied to and they were open and receptive to outside information. If this hadn’t been the case then the “Voice of America” would have fallen literally on deaf ears.
And herein lies the grave problem.
University students do not know that they are being lied to and thus they are not receptive to alternate and conflicting viewpoints. Such viewpoints are classified as ‘hate speech’ by those in control and this is fiercely believed by the greater student body.
A present day attempt to penetrate the cocoon in which students reside would be a complete waste of time and money.
The reason for this is simple – there are too many dumb people studying in universities, and it is those of low intelligence who are most susceptible to the brainwashing of the progressive left. Increasing the percentage of the population that obtains a university degree was a strategic move on the part of the progressive left to fill university campuses with morons who were easily susceptible to the most outlandish and radical ideas.
. . . . .
The astounding thing is that while they do this they are charging students exorbitant amounts of money for the pleasure of being indoctrinated. Not even Mao’s China or the Soviet Union ever imagined doing this.

Living for the outside world is the term I use to define someone who cares more about how the world perceives them than how their life actually is. In other words they need to project this image of the perfect life, of things always going well for them no matter how far this conflicts with the actual ugly reality. The uglier the reality the more they will attempt to sell the message of their life being a wonderful world of perfect happiness.
This sort of thing used to be known as ‘keeping up with the Joneses’. If your neighbor got a new car then you had to get one too, preferably with just a single additional extra so you could lord it over them. If someone else got a promotion then you had to also get promoted, and so on and so on. This type of behavior betrays a personal shallowness and superficiality as well as a deep sense of insecurity. It is all too common in people. In fact, I’d put it at 90% of the population at a minimum.
Today this condition has evolved spectacularly with social media. Whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Youtube, there are many platforms now available for the budding sophisticate to sell their message to an uncaring world of just how marvelous their existence actually is.
Whereas before the gratification from these acts was limited to a bit of boasting at a social event, now approval addicts can post a holiday snap and wait in breathless anticipation for a number of likes to come dribbling in.

I say in extreme cases because the reality is that I have no wish to sit through people blathering on about their issues, because most of the time it is uninteresting and typically mundane. Only when the person is worth my time and has undoubtedly reached a definite crisis point will I allow myself to cooperate in this way. In some cases I have watched them go several years in the same crisis until they finally hit rock bottom. I like rock bottom; it’s a good place to be as it is the best chance for people to take some concrete action to an issue that they have been avoiding for so long. There’s nothing like the brutal slap of reality to keep people moving in a new direction.
. . . . .
The reason why we dig in our heels so often is that it’s rather difficult to admit when you’re wrong, and particularly when you’re the supposed expert. A few years ago I might not have listened but I’m slowly getting better as I go along. This listening to advice has to be balanced however, with a clear direction of where you want to go with a project or idea. If you are weak then you may well find yourself vacillating from one opinion to another as you are bounced around like the ball in a pinball machine.
The key is to have a clear idea of what you want and then test out the areas of which you’re open to suggestion. Finally you need to be able to select the best information at hand and effectively apply it.
It’s a tough business this giving and receiving advice. Which is why I just usually try to mind my own business these days.

Yesterday a low pressure system, an early spring front if you will, passed over South Australia. Within a couple of hours the entire state fell off the grid as the power output went from 1500MW to an amazing 5MW. This happened just before the afternoon rush hour which caused complete chaos. Why is this big news? Because over the last few years South Australia has thrown itself into the myth of renewable energy.
South Australia receives 40% of its electricity from wind power. It sounds good except for the fact that when the wind doesn’t blow you don’t get any, and paradoxically, when the wind blows too hard you don’t get any either.
Having a daily 40% electricity shortfall is bad enough but this means that the state must purchase the remainder from the neighboring state of Victoria which uses that nasty coal stuff for its power. In fact, the normal shortfall on a good day is sourced from Victoria meaning that when it’s dark and windy/not windy, South Australia relies on Victoria for almost all its power needs.
. . . . .
I watched the ABC news last night, which was an extreme rarity for me, but I wanted to see which way they would spin the story. No mention was made of South Australia’s inept and ill conceived power arrangements. Instead the reporter stood out in the dark and cold in a live feed and gushed at the severity of this “once in a 50 year storm”.
Funny thing though, 50 years ago there is no historical record of the entire state losing its power supply to a storm, and neither 50 years before that. So maybe this was a “once in a 150 year storm”. In fact, no state in Australia has ever lost its entire power supply, not due to this or any other circumstance for that matter. But the crazy thing is that the socialist government of Victoria wants to copy South Australia’s example and phase out all coal power within a few years and relying only on renewables. Just what South Australia will do when that happens is anyone’s guess. Return to the Dark Ages most likely.

This law is merely a logical continuation of feminine primacy. From a young age men are instructed by society at large that women are special beings with unique abilities that must be worshiped at all times. He is taught that he must be a dutiful provider and in order for her to be happy he must give her all that she desires. After all, women can “have it all” as we are told over and over again. This must then follow that she can have the children as well since society sees no need or value in them stinking fathers. Your job as a father is merely to provide her with the children. They are her property which you are required to pay the upkeep and maintenance towards until they are well into adult life.
The final legal step along this progression will be women’s complete right over a man’s sexuality. She will merely have to point out a man in the crowd and he will be legally obligated to provide her with his sperm and financial servitude towards the offspring for the next 30 years, (those damn kids never want to leave home these days).
One can only hope and pray that he will not be required to perform coitus, depositing a good dose in a tube a sufficient act to sign away his rights for decades to come.

A few days ago the results of a “shock poll” were revealed here in Australia. It turns out that 50% of those polled want an immediate ban on muslim immigration to this country.
The poll was conducted as a result of federal politician and One Nation party leader Pauline Hanson calling for a ban on muslim immigration last week in her opening speech to the new parliament. No doubt the pollsters thought they would be showing that nasty racist Pauline that she was dead wrong. Instead the poll justified her call in the biggest way possible. The pollsters were so shocked they ran the poll again which got exactly the same result.
The response from mainstream political leaders here was so predictable as to be nauseating. The leader of the opposition Bill Shorten said that Australia was an immigrant country and that we all came from somewhere else. This is the usual convenient lie that our leaders here have been using for too long now. The problem for them is that the mainstream dirt people no longer believe it. Australia until quite recently was not an immigrant country. For the first 170 years of the country’s life we steadfastly refused to allow any immigration of people who were not of ‘good character’. So whitey got in and all the others got shown a closed door. Even after World War II we only allowed Europeans to come here. It was only with the disaster of the Vietnam war and the civil war in Lebanon in the late 70s that the first non-whites were allowed to immigrate. The floodgates were let open so to speak.

The truth of the matter is that progressives have no fucking idea about how the world actually works.
The same attitudes that they have regarding the natural environment are on display in everything else they do. Witness the feelgood virtue signaling social worker go into the Calais migrant camp at night to “do good” and get gang raped and dismembered. Or a similar progressive in Sweden who got raped but refused to report it because she didn’t want bad things to happen to the poor migrant who did it to her.
Can we say humans bad, nature good here as well? Or would that betray how progressives actually view people from less fortunate parts of the globe? Hmmm?
These people are children, mere kidlings who are lose in the world with the reins of power in their bureaucratic hands. And because they are so self-destructive they will only be truly satisfied when none of us walk the earth anymore, including them.
https://pushingrubberdownhill.com/2016/09/19/humans-bad-nature-good/
I’ve said it over and over. Hillary will be the next King of the U.S. Still there are those who think Trump has a chance. I still don’t know what these people are smoking. It must be some damn good stuff however. If Trump wins I’ll be wrong. For the first time in the history of the Cynical Libertarian Society. And I’ll be okay with that. Trump over Hillary any day.
And remember, I have gone on record many times saying this but I will say it again.
Trump to carry every state.
And if you plan on getting your money on him, now is the time. Soon it’s going to be obvious even to blind Freddy. I envisage that the only way that Trump would lose is if Clinton goes and carks it.

My humble thanks for the coverage this week. You routinely highlight the prescient parts of each piece I write. It’s nice to see someone get it.
That tweet at the end is so many levels of win.
You are most welcome. Your bit about it being better to fail than to suck is a powerful observation that has been bouncing around my brain almost constantly since I read it. This is going to find it’s way into my life philosophy.
Those damn white men. They are just too racist to understand what free means.
