This technology will also be useful to the police, military, government and corporations to prevent you from getting video/still images of things they don’t want you to record. Yet this is a reality of technology. If you have a smart phone you have to understand that others will attempt to control it and access the data on it.

The statists amongst you will of course think the solution is to “pass a law” because that has worked so well in the past.

Better answers are:

Software that circumvents the backdoors on your smart phone.
Get a burner flip phone.

On 1 January, 2016 open carry laws took effect in Texas. The question a journalists asked was “have there been any calls or arrests” after the open carry law took effect. The answer from one police chief and two sheriffs was “no”.

The answer should have been “Do you mean did any homosexual Muslims go into gay dance clubs and shoot people? No. They didn’t. Not in Texas where we have concealed and open carry.”

I’ve heard nothing about this and it’s not made much of a splash. Nor would I expect it to. I didn’t talk about this in the podcast but the simple reason the Republicans aren’t going to support limiting the power of the federal government is that at some point in the future the Republicans may again control congress. The last thing they want to do is reduce the amount of power they may have in the future.
