Stating The Obvious 0314 – Book Discussion: Data And Goliath – The Hidden Battles to Collect Your Data and Control Your World by Bruce Schneier – Part 6
More about the book Data And Goliath – The Hidden Battles to Collect Your Data and Control Your World by Bruce Schneier.
As we get near the end of the book Bruce starts talking about solutions to the data collection by government and corporations. Unfortunately all of his solutions are statist solutions.
Like any good statist Bruce thinks the problem can be solved with more laws. Considering how many laws we have now shouldn’t there be no problems at all? How many laws does it take to solve a problem? How about we stop neglecting the fact that all of these problems are the consequences of laws.
No law should be longer than three sentences.
Any words beyond that are there to create exceptions or loopholes.
The podcast leaves off reading about which laws give the NSA power to spy on you. We will continue in the next episode.
