Fresh off of attempting to rip off her former employer with a frivolous sexual discrimination lawsuit, Reddit CEO Ellen Pao has done it again. Pao made waves last week when she announced that Reddit would no longer allow potential hires to negotiate their salaries, because salary negotiations unfairly privilege men over women:

‘If you want more equity, we’ll let you swap a little bit of your cash salary for equity, but we aren’t going to reward people who are better negotiators with more compensation,’ Pao said. ‘We ask people what they think about diversity, and we did weed people out because of that.’

You read that correctly: Pao is deliberately handicapping men in order to give women a boost. Because men are better at negotiating their salaries than women—and because studies purportedly show that women who attempt to haggle over their salaries are perceived more negatively—she’s taken the option off the table entirely. If one side can’t play the game as well, no one gets to play at all.

The number of children in the UK being referred to the NHS for transgender treatments has increased fourfold over the last five years, new figures indicate.

Britain’s only center specializing in gender issues saw the number of under-11s seeking consultation rise from 19 in 2009/10, to 77 in 2014/15.

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust said the referrals included 47 children aged under five and two under three years of age.

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – A mother abandoned her quadriplegic son in a wooded area of a Philadelphia park for nearly a week so she could visit her boyfriend in Maryland, police said.

The 21-year-old disabled man was found by a passerby on Friday night lying on leaves and covered by blankets with his wheelchair and Bible nearby, said Philadelphia police Lieutenant John Walker.

Police said the man who was abandoned in the woods is unable to talk and suffers from cerebral palsy.

At a National Union of Students (NUS) Women’s conference in London this week, delegates were asked to refrain from applauding and use “jazz hands” instead. The request, which appeared on the Twitter feed of the Oxford University Student Union’s Women’s Campaign, was made because clapping was “triggering anxiety” amongst some conference members.

The same conference also passed a motion condemning drag and cross dressing, while another motion attacked gay men who speak like black women. Are these manifestations just self-indulgences of affluent human detritus, or do they represent a wider trend of censorious authoritarianism in people who will one day be ruling over Britain’s town halls and corporate offices?
