In a continuing effort to understand Why Statism I go into more depth exploring the place from which the fear which drives statists comes from. That place is victimhood. Being a victim is a source of power. By invoking victim status the incompetent can gain power and resources she would never be able to access based on her inherent abilities. To eliminate the State we must eliminate fear. To eliminate fear we must eliminate victims. When the group is question is an entire society which worships democracy the result is everyone being reduced to seeking victim status.
