I read from the first book in the Edgeworks series by Harlan Ellison. In addition to containing fiction stories which are the usual powerful stories Ellison writes and displaying Ellison’s skill with the written word this book also shows why Ellison should write fiction and keeps his opinions to himself.

In this book he:

• Plays the Jew Card.
• Denies that Jews were killed by Nazi’s with gun because the Jews had no guns.
• Laments the stupidity of people don’t think exactly the way he thinks while professing his love for democracy.
• Wants the government to save these same stupid people from themselves instead of allowing natural selection to run its course.

One of many things Ellison and I agree on however would be . . .

You need to get the fuck off our lawns.
